As a respected leader in the health care industry, Baxter Healthcare Corporation wanted to support the training of professionals who use Baxter products. Of significant importance was the introduction of Baxter's newest hemofiltration instrument… the Accura. Accura performs CRRT or continuous renal replacement therapies on patients with acute renal failure.

This being Baxter's first venture in offering global online education, the company turned to InSight Media for assistance with technical and instructional design. After conducting a comprehensive examination of the product and the challenges faced by ICU nurses, InSight created a training program consisting of seven chapters. Within each chapter, students have the option to study the content in order or to pick and choose topics at random. The content is illustrated using a detailed, 3-D model of the Accura and its disposable items. At the end of each chapter, students are given a test to evaluate learning and comprehension. Tests consist of multiple choice questions and of exercises that ask the student to interact with the model. At the conclusion of each test, scores are written to the student record. Links have also been included to assist students in reviewing information related to incorrect responses.
