The local chapter of The Salvation Army sought to honor the efforts and generous financial support of its leading donors. In particular, the group wanted to encourage further charity by demonstrating how the contributions enabled the continued success of the organization's social programs.

Since the Salvation Army's focus is to assist people in crisis, InSight wanted to illustrate the donors' impact using a personal story. With videotape as the chosen medium, InSight traced the life of an individual from his personal crisis through his rehabilitation in the client's social and spiritual programs. To capture the story's inspirational effect, InSight capitalized on elements of cinematic storytelling and documentary filmmaking. The program opened with a gritty montage of street life and personal narrative to illustrate the subject's downfall. Interviews with the subject then established his "character." Discussions with other individuals, such as the subject's family and counselors, were included to offer a well-rounded perspective. Throughout the program, InSight emphasized the positive impact the donors made on the individual's life by visually and structurally connecting his success to the people, the programs and the facilities of the client.
